The Paris 2024<\/a> Olympic and Paralympic Village (OV) is not just an accommodation for athletes, but a symbol of the sustainable ambition and innovation of the Games. Located in the heart of the ZAC Zorro Plaine du Polder<\/a><\/strong> in Seine-Saint-Denis, the VO will host 14,250 athletes during the Olympic Games and 8,000 during the Paralympic Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paris 2024 Olympic Village: an innovative and sustainable design<\/h2>\n\n\n

Designed by French architect Dominique Perrault<\/a>, the OV was conceived as a contemporary, open and innovative neighbourhood. It is made up of 82 buildings made of wood and other sustainable materials<\/strong>, which blend harmoniously into the existing urban landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OV: More than just accommodation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The OV will offer athletes a wide range of services and facilities, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Cafeterias serving up to 60,000 meals a day<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • A 24-hour health centre<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • A state-of-the-art gym<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Recreation and relaxation spaces<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Shops and other commercial services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    A lasting legacy<\/h2>\n\n\n

    After the Games, the OV will be transformed into a vibrant new district<\/strong> known as \u201cPleyel-Canal\u201d<\/strong>. This new neighbourhood will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Housing for 6,000 residents<\/strong>, including social, private and student housing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Offices<\/strong> and commercial spaces<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Schools<\/strong> and sports facilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Parks<\/strong> and green areas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      A driver for the economy<\/h2>\n\n\n

      The creation of \u201cPleyel-Canal\u201d is expected to generate around 3,500 new jobs<\/strong> in areas such as commerce, education and services. This will help to boost the local economy and create new opportunities for residents in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The OV is designed to be accessible to all athletes<\/strong>, regardless of their physical ability. Facilities and services will be adapted to ensure that all athletes can fully enjoy their experience at the Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The construction of the OV is the result of close collaboration between public authorities, the organisers of the Games and private companies<\/strong>. This project demonstrates the commitment of all the actors involved to create a lasting legacy for Paris and its citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
