Sometimes, when we live in a place and fall into everyday life, we get bored of always doing the same thing or going to the same places. Therefore, if you need to refresh your list of favorite beaches, here are 7, well-known and not so well-known. And if you come to visit Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, we assure you that you are going to love these beaches.
Malpaso Beach
It is located between the coastal towns of Sayulita and San Francisco (San Pancho). The beach is only accessible by boat or by walking from one of the two towns, and most beachgoers choose to make the walk. The beach is still untouched by commercialization and as such there are no resorts, bars or even houses, making visiting Playa Malpaso a pleasant and relaxing experience.
Colomitos Beach
Considered one of the smallest beaches in the world, Playa Colomitos is a hidden treasure worth visiting. This beach is only 30 minutes by boat from Puerto Vallarta and has an impressive natural beauty, surrounded by vegetation and mountains.
You can also do a hike from Boca de Tomatlán and you will be there in 20 minutes
Madagascar Beach
Madagascar beach owes its exotic name to a country in East Africa. However, we have it very close, to the south of Puerto Vallarta, facing a Pacific Ocean that goes from crystalline green to deep blue. Its golden sand coast is surrounded by a landscape of dense vegetation and rocks, which give it a wonderfully wild and peaceful touch.
Palmares Beach
This beach is located south of Puerto Vallarta. It is a calm and relaxed beach, ideal for those looking to escape the crowds. Here you can enjoy crystal clear waters, soft and fine sand, and a relaxed and calm atmosphere.
Las Ánimas
Located south of Puerto Vallarta, Playa Las Ánimas is a white sand beach with crystal clear waters. The beach is accessed by boat from Boca de Tomatlán, which makes it a bit more isolated than other more popular beaches in the area. The beach has some restaurants that offer delicious fresh seafood and tropical drinks.
Mayto
Located on the southern coast of Jalisco, Playa Mayto is a stunning, secluded beach with crystal clear waters and a laid-back atmosphere. Although it is a bit more difficult to reach than other beaches. If it's the season, in Mayto they have a turtle camp where you can release turtles, making your visit unique.
It is located about two and a half hours from Vallarta and we recommend you spend at least one night there to enjoy the full experience.
La Lancha Beach
Located in Punta de Mita, on the Riviera Nayarit, Playa La Lancha is a secluded spot with perfect waves for surfing. Although popular with surfers, the beach is calm and relaxed, surrounded by greenery.
