Linked to the minimalist current, he specializes in buildings of cultural interest, shopping centers, museums and homes, as well as furniture and interiors.

His work is characterized by its ability to reflect the historical characteristics of the environments in which he works. He focuses on creating human environments with a humanistic attitude to design through architecture and public space.

Chipperfield’s position is clear: “Finding beauty in normality seems to me to be a profound position and something very modern and different from what our contemporary society is doing, which is feeding the hunger for novelty. I have not lost my confidence in architecture itself, we make a physically better world, we make a better world in general. I’ve always held on to that.”

Chipperfield began his career with a number of projects in Germany, including the famous Bauhaus Museum in Weimar in 1997. Some of the most notable recent projects are the reconstruction, restoration and expansion of the Prado Museum in Madrid and the expansion of the National Gallery of London. He also contributed to the project to reopen the Statue of Liberty in Paris.
