Chateau Algonquin, Tina Turner's serene home in Switzerland

Tina Turner, whose real name was Anna Mae Bullock, was born on November 26, 1936 in Brownsville, Tennessee and died on May 24 at her residence in Küsnacht, Switzerland.

The singer, one of the great icons of rock & roll, had a long professional life which began in 1959 with her husband, Ike Turner, from whom she separated in 1976 and began a prodigious career as a soloist from which she retired in 2013, after a 54-year artistic career.

In 1985, Tina met the German producer Erwin Bach, and she married him in 2013, the same year that she retired. Erwin, accompanied her for almost forty years and lovingly cared for her throughout the multiple illnesses that Tina suffered from a stroke in 2013, then intestinal cancer and a kidney transplant, which her husband donated to her in 2017.

As a result of her relationship, Tina moved to Switzerland. For 30 years, Tina lived with Erwin in a wonderful property, Chateau Algonquin, in Ksnacht, next to Lake Zurich. The 5,500 m2 chateau, lakefront and built more than a 100 years ago, cost 75 million dollars when they bought it in 2021, although they had been living there for 20 years.

At the entrance of the house, which today receives the tribute of her fans, there is an inscription that she put up and that says "before 12, do not ring the bell or make deliveries, thank you."
