The incredible exhibition of Catrinas in Puerto Vallarta

On the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Dead, the municipal authorities, together with different companies, they showed off with the exhibition of catrinas, altars and large skulls displayed on the Malecón at the height of the lighthouse.

The main focus is on the blue catrina, which is over 23 meters tall and aspires to be a Guinness record, authored by Alondra Muca and from Vallarta who was in charge of the artistic design of the exhibition. In addition, along the Malecón there are a series of “ofrendas” for the dead and large skulls celebrating great personalities such as The Beatles and Marilyn Monroe.

A big congratulations to Professor Michel, mayor of Puerto Vallarta, to the artists, companies and all the collaborators who promoted and made this beautiful exhibition possible.

-Fun fact: La catrinaoriginally called “The chickpea skull”, was a mockery of chickpea sellers who hid their indigenous roots and pretended to be rich to sell-
