Sayulita and San Pancho, the treasures of Riviera Nayarit

Sayulita

Sayulita is a small and charming town located in the Mexican state of Nayarit, with a population of around 4,000. It is located on the Pacific Ocean, about 40 kilometers north of Puerto Vallarta. It is famous for its surfing beaches and vibrant life. The local culture is a mix of Mexican, hippie and surfer styles.

Sayulita was originally a small and remote fishing village. However, the town has become a popular tourist destination in recent years and plays an important role in the area’s tourism sector, known for its energetic surfing scene, reflected in its famous quality waves.

The town is also full of hippies and tourists from all over the world who relax on the beach and enjoy the gastronomy of the area -their oysters are unique, they have to be cut with a knife because they are so big-. The spirit of Sayulita can be felt with its effervescent culture, colors everywhere, all kinds of gastronomic offerings, and its boho-chic vibes.
