Pride Vallarta is a show of support and inclusion for sexual and gender diversity in Puerto Vallarta and has become one of the largest gay pride events in Mexico. It is designed to commemorate all members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as emphasize the importance of equality and diversity.
Pride Vallarta is an event that unites tourists and locals of all preferences and identities, as well as their families and friends in a celebration that celebrates life, freedom and the acceptance of all. Some of the activities that take place are parades, parties, concerts, panel discussions, the first 5k and 10k race, a fashion show, and welcome and closing ceremonies. It is important to emphasize that anyone, whether they are part of the Community or not, is welcome to participate in all the activities, since one of the main messages that they want to communicate is inclusion.
In addition to the festivities, Vallarta Pride is of great importance because it represents an opportunity for the LGBTQ+ community to celebrate their identity, fight for their rights and visibility, and promote equality and respect for sexual diversity. This is how Pride is also a platform for education and awareness about discrimination, homophobia, transphobia and the issues that the LGBTQ+ community faces around the world.
In this edition, special emphasis will be placed on the visibility of LGBTQ+ indigenous communities, who suffer from significant deprivations, in addition to the lack of knowledge of their own rights. That is why Vallarta Pride will be directly supporting these types of communities, to involve them, create awareness and support them in all their needs.
